Pony.ai
Founded in 2016, Pony.ai is a Sino-American technology company based in California. It currently operates robotaxi fleets in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, as well as autonomous trucks on highways using a platooning system, where a vehicle with a safety driver is followed by unmanned vehicles.

Baidu Apollo
Baidu Apollo is an open-source autonomous driving platform developed by the Chinese technology giant Baidu. Its goal is to provide a comprehensive and flexible solution for developing autonomous vehicles, ranging from software to sensors and hardware. Apollo operates robotaxi fleets in several Chinese cities, including Beijing, Wuhan, and Chongqing.

AutoX
AutoX.ai is an autonomous driving technology company focused on developing level-4 autonomous driving systems, enabling vehicles to operate without human intervention. AutoX deploys robotaxis in several Chinese cities, notably Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, emphasizing navigation in complex urban environments.

Beijing High-level Automated Driving Demonstration Area
The Beijing High-level Automated Driving Demonstration Zone (BJHAD) is a government initiative aimed at promoting and testing autonomous driving technologies under real-world conditions. It provides a controlled yet realistic environment for companies to develop and deploy autonomous vehicles, contributing to the advancement of intelligent mobility.

XPeng
Xpeng is a Chinese automaker specializing in electric vehicles (EV) and distinguished by its investment in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The company actively develops its own ADAS technology, notably the XNGP system, offering increasingly sophisticated autonomous driving features aimed at making driving safer and more convenient and achieving level-4 autonomy.

Huawei
Huawei, a global technology giant, has significantly diversified its activities, particularly focusing on the automotive and mobility sector. The company develops autonomous driving solutions, vehicle connectivity systems, and components for electric vehicles, aiming to become a key technology provider for the intelligent automotive industry.

Shenzhen Bus Group
Shenzhen Bus Group is the public transport operator in Shenzhen, known for pioneering the complete electrification of its bus fleet. The company operates around twenty robobuses on a fixed route.

WeRide
WeRide is a Chinese autonomous driving company developing various types of vehicles, including robotaxis, robobuses, and robosweepers. WeRide operates robotaxis in several Chinese cities, including Guangzhou, Beijing, and Shenzhen.

Guangzhou Intelligent Connected Vehicule Pilot
zone Operations Center
The GICC is a central infrastructure that oversees and manages the deployment and operation of autonomous vehicles in the city. It plays a crucial role in data collection, traffic management, and ensuring the safety of autonomous vehicles operating within the pilot zone.

This project is supported by EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. EIT Urban Mobility acts to accelerate positive change on mobility to make urban spaces more liveable.
